Storyline Church began with simple monthly gatherings in local coffee shops, where a small group of people dreamed of something bigger. From the very beginning, our passion has been to connect everyday stories to the story of Jesus in a way that’s real, personal, and transformative.

Our Lead Pastor, Akeem Smith, was filled with excitement at the idea of starting a church that reflected the heart and diversity of Oakland. He dreamed of a place where anyone—regardless of their background—could come to know God, find community, discover their purpose, and make a lasting difference.

Since launching in September 2019, that vision has become a reality. Together with his wife, Jaime, and a passionate team, Akeem continues to lead Storyline forward — reaching Oakland, the East Bay, and beyond with the life-changing message of the gospel. The Story of God, for the City of Oakland.
